Upgrade Your Plan

Upgrading your SetGet plan unlocks additional features, removes member limits, and expands storage capacity. The upgrade process is straightforward and takes effect immediately. This page walks through upgrading, managing payment, understanding proration, and downgrading if needed.

Who can upgrade

Only workspace Admins can change the billing plan. If you are a Member or Guest, ask a workspace Admin to perform the upgrade.

Step-by-step upgrade

  1. Open the sidebar and click Settings.
  2. Navigate to Billing in the settings menu.
  3. You see your current plan at the top of the page along with usage metrics (members, storage).
  4. Click Upgrade next to the plan you want to switch to.
  5. Review the plan features and pricing summary.
  6. Select a billing cycle:
    • Monthly — pay month to month, cancel anytime
    • Annual — pay upfront for 12 months at a discounted rate
  7. Enter your payment details (or select an existing payment method).
  8. Review the total and click Confirm Upgrade.
  9. The new plan activates immediately. All members gain access to the upgraded features right away.

TIP

Annual billing typically saves 15-20% compared to monthly billing. If you are confident in your team size, annual billing offers the best value.

Payment methods

SetGet accepts the following payment methods:

Updating a payment method

  1. Go to Settings > Billing > Payment Methods.
  2. Click Edit next to the existing method.
  3. Update the details and click Save.

Removing a payment method

You can remove a payment method only if another valid method is on file. The active payment method for your subscription cannot be deleted until a replacement is added.

Proration

When you upgrade mid-cycle, SetGet prorates the charge so you only pay for the remaining days in the current billing period.

How proration works

  • Upgrading — you are charged the difference between your current plan's daily rate and the new plan's daily rate, multiplied by the number of remaining days in the billing period. The next full billing cycle charges the new plan's full price.
  • Adding members — if you add members mid-cycle on a per-seat plan, the additional seats are prorated for the remaining days.
  • Downgrading — any unused prepaid amount from the higher plan is applied as a credit toward future invoices.

Example

You are on the Pro plan (monthly) and upgrade to Business on day 15 of a 30-day cycle.

  1. SetGet calculates the daily rate difference between Business and Pro.
  2. You are charged that difference for the remaining 15 days.
  3. On the next billing date, you are charged the full Business monthly rate.

TIP

You can preview the prorated amount before confirming the upgrade. The confirmation screen shows the exact charge.

Invoices and receipts

All invoices are available in Settings > Billing > Invoices. Each invoice includes:

Downgrading

If you need to move to a lower plan, you can downgrade at any time.

Step-by-step downgrade

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Click Change Plan.
  3. Select the lower plan.
  4. Review the impact summary — which features will be disabled and any data implications.
  5. Click Confirm Downgrade.

What happens when you downgrade

  • The downgrade takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep the higher plan's features until then.
  • Any unused prepaid amount is applied as a credit.
  • Features not available on the lower plan become read-only:
    • Custom fields remain visible but cannot be edited or created.
    • Teamspaces are accessible but new ones cannot be created.
    • Guest members retain read access but no new guests can be invited.
  • If your workspace exceeds the lower plan's member limit, you must remove members before the downgrade takes effect.

WARNING

Downgrading does not delete data. Custom fields, teamspace configurations, and guest member data are preserved. If you upgrade again later, everything is restored.

Downgrading to Free

When downgrading from any paid plan to Free:

  1. Reduce workspace members to 12 or fewer.
  2. File storage must be within the 5 GB limit (or files will become read-only until you reduce usage).
  3. Confirm the downgrade.

Canceling a subscription

To cancel your paid subscription entirely and return to the Free plan:

  1. Go to Settings > Billing.
  2. Click Cancel Subscription.
  3. Select a reason (optional feedback).
  4. Confirm cancellation.

The paid plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, the workspace reverts to the Free plan.
